Like you, I do a reading of all my work, but like some of the others, I would have been happier to see the the printed version as well. I contend that that way you offer three experiences, reading the poem as words, checking the form, enjoying the refraIn & rhyme–then listening to your wonderful (excellent) recitation–then listening to the reading as one sight-reads the words; then we are satiated, satisfied, inspired, bent double with awe & praise.
My favorite lines are “Sheathed in copper leaves” (because it sounds great, and it’s an amazing image) and “my exotic, your familiar too” (because of the layers of meanings in this.
Your reading just puts us all to shame because all English poetry should be read with your accent and voice. 🙂 OK, that’s what movies make us believe, and I watch a lot of movies. 😉
I enjoyed listening to this a lot.
At first I felt a bit taken back that there was nothing to read, but after hearing it, I could see why you refrained from printing.

This was beautiful. But I agree with others that I would have enjoyed reading along with the printed poem as well. I am very visual when it comes to words. It allows me to linger on the parts that really speak to me and to easily reread stanzas to fully grasp meaning. Peace, Linda

Everything I have to say has been said, except that I am extremely hard of hearing, so I missed most of your words, but enjoyed the hearing for the gentle syncopation.The pictures are also amazing. Thank you.
