Seasons
Behind the golden pumpkins
hide sleigh bells in the snow
while in the shadows of the witches
inflatable Santas
impatient for their turn
wait for the black cauldrons
to become baskets of pine cones
painted silver
before the very last selection boxes
sold on Christmas Eve reveal
the posters ready to announce
January sales
as the first Easter bunnies
limbering up ready for their turn
practise racing around
Valentine’s cards.
Have a scary New Year
have a merry Halloween
have a cosy Easter
have a chocolate Valentine’s
and above all
have a loving Christmas.

All are offered freely and it is my hope that you, dear reader, will gain something by browsing here and that I in turn will gain something by presenting these works to you.

oh it’s so true…the consumer industry races us through the seasons… it freaks me out if the christmas stuff appears in the shops after the summer break already…ugh… happy new year to you…smiles
Well said.
Happy New Year Kevin, long may the ink continue to flow through your veins. Chris.
Happy new year Chris and thank you great to hear from you
Great imagery in poem and all the scenes formed in my mind’s camera. Sounds like you must keep the hot chocolate and tea handy at those temperatures.
Wow. Well done.
